A dream among the Tuscan hills

The story of Le Pietre Vive began in 2005, when Nicola and Alessandra Guerrini chose to buy a property immersed in the Tuscan countryside, just a few kilometers from Siena, between Chianti and the Crete Senesi.

Their wish was simple yet profound: to create a family home where they could raise their children Gioele, Gioia and Mattia together with grandmother Luciana, known to everyone as “Ciana”. An authentic place, immersed in nature, where they could build memories, roots and a future.

From ruin to welcoming home

What at first appeared to be an abandoned, crumbling building was rebuilt with care and respect, keeping its original structure intact.

Nicola and Alessandra transformed the old ruin into a new home, warm and welcoming, without betraying its soul.

Family and change became the two pillars on which the whole venture is built: preserving traditions while, at the same time, giving life to something new, capable of welcoming and sharing.

A place to feel part of

From that home an experience was born that, over the years, has grown in different directions. The restaurant on the ground floor and on the large front lawn, cooking classes in the family kitchen, truffle hunts in the estate’s woods together with expert truffle hunters and their dogs: every activity has grown while staying true to its original spirit.

Year after year, Le Pietre Vive has become a place where people don’t feel like customers, but welcome guests. A space where everyone can feel welcomed, listened to, and part of a genuine community.

The phrase that has always accompanied the work of the Guerrini family is an invitation that captures their way of living hospitality: “Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it” (Hebrews 13:2).
